1. How does the Lord regard pride?
“These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren,” Proverbs 6:16-19.
2. Why will the wicked not seek after God?
“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts,” Psalm 10:4.
3. What will one’s pride do for him?
“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit,” Proverbs 29:23.

“Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!” Isaiah 28:1.

12. What is to be the fate of the proud?
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch,” Malachi 4:1.
