WHOM SHALL WE OBEY

Scripture Reading: Acts 5:12-27.

Memory Verse: Acts 5:29.

  1. What proposition was put to Israel at Mount Sinai? Exodus 19:3-6.
  2. What would follow Israel if they obeyed these commandments? Deuteronomy 11:26, 27.
  3. Despite these wonderful promises, how did Israel regard the covenant? Jeremiah 31:31,32.
  4. What lesson may we learn from the attitude of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in time of a test? Daniel 3:8-26.

NOTE:  Let us understand that there was no assurance of deliverance, but they were satisfied to die in obeying the Lord.

  1. What is said concerning the obedience of the Lord Jesus in Hebrews 5:7-10?
  2. Who else should we obey besides the Lord, and what is the promise of God for this obedience? Proverbs 23:22; Ephesians 6:1-3.
  3. Who should we obey in the church? Hebrews 13:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12,13.
  4. How much honor are they entitled to, and should we believe every accusation? 1 Timothy 5:17-19.
  5. Whom should we obey outside the church? Titus 3:1.
  6. What should be our attitude towards the ruling power? 1 Timothy 2:1-3; 1 Peter 2:12-19.
  7. What well known statement did Samuel make to King Saul regarding obedience? 1 Samuel 15:22.
  8. Why was Saul rejected by God as king? Verse 23.
  9. Does the word of the Lord teach that the disobedient will be punished even in this life? How is our reward determined? Romans 2:6-11.
  10. What are we admonished to do in Hebrews 2:1-3?
