ENDURING TRIBULATIONS

Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4.    

Memory Verse: 1 Peter 1:7. 

  1. What does the apostle Peter say of trials which we as Christians might have to endure? 1 Peter 4:12.
  2. Why should Christians not think it strange concerning these trials? 2 Timothy 3:12;1 Thessalonians 3:3,4.
  3. Were the prophets of old examples of sufferings? James 5:10; Matthew 5:12.
  4. In what way were many of them tried? Hebrew 11:36-38.
  5. What did Christ say concerning trials? Matthew 5:10-12.
  6. Why should a Christian glory in tribulations? Romans 5:3-5.
  7. Are trials profitable? 1 Peter 1:7; James 1:12.
  8. What is promised if we suffer patiently with Christ? 2 Timothy 2:12; Romans 8:17.
  9. If one endures the sufferings for the sake of being a Christian, should such a one rejoice? James 5:11;1 Peter 4:13.
  10. What promise is for those who endure faithfully unto the end? Matthew 10:22; Revelation 2:10.
  11. Are the sufferings of this present time worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed? Romans 8:18.

NOTE:  In a scriptural sense persecution was the active and malignant opposition with which the Christians of all ages have met with from the enemies of Christ, and thus will it be until the return of our Lord and Saviour.
