REPENTANCE

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:22-42.

Memory Verse: 2 Peter 3:9.

  1. What does the Holy Bible, God’s Word, teach about repentance? Ezekiel 18:31-32.
  2. Is it possible to be saved without repentance? Luke 13:1-5.
  3. Of what must we repent? Acts 3:19; 8:20-22.
  4. Did the great Apostle Paul tell the people they must repent? Acts 20:20,21.
  5. Did Peter preach repentance? Acts 2:38.
  6. Are we to confess to man or to God in seeking forgiveness of our sins? Acts 20:21; Romans 14:11.
  7. Is it necessary for every soul to repent of his or her sins in order to become a child of God? Why? Romans 14:11, 12; Romans 3:23; 5:12;  Mark 16:16.

NOTE: God will not exclude any from the Kingdom if they have repented and have had their sins blotted out. God grants complete forgiveness to every penitent sinner.

  1. Will anyone who has not repented of his sins be given eternal life? 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; John 3:3; Proverbs 28:13.
  2. What did Jesus teach about repentance? Matthew 4:17;  Mark 1:14,15.
  3. What words did John the Baptist use when expressing the same thought? Matthew 3:5-8.
  4. What does the Bible reveal about the life of Paul (Saul) before he had repented? Acts 9:11-18; 1 Corinthians 15:9; Galatians 1:13.
  5. After his repentance was Paul’s life different from what it had formerly been? Acts 9:20,23-25,29.
