ENDURING TRIBULATIONS 

Scripture reading: 1 Peter 4: 1-12.

Memory verse: James 1:12. 

  1. What does the apostle Peter say for the trials of Christians? 1 Peter 4:12.
  2. Why should Christians not think it strange con­cerning their trials? 2 Tim. 3:12; 1 Thess. 3:3, 4.
  3. Were not the prophets of old examples of suffer­ing? James 5:10; Matt. 5:12.
  4. In what way were many of them tried? Heb. 11:36-38.
  5. What did Christ say concerning persecution? Matt. 5:11.
  6. Why should a Christian glory in tribulation? Rom. 5:3-5.
  7. Are trials profitable? 1 Peter 1:7.
  8. What promise have we if we suffer with Christ? 2 Tim. 2:12; Rom. 8:17.
  9. If one endures the sufferings of Christ, should he be counted happy? James 5:11.
  10. What promise have all who endure unto the end? Matt. 10:22; Rev. 2:10.
  11. What does Christ say of those who are per­secuted for righteousness’ sake, and spoken evil against? Matt. 5:10, 11.
  12. Are the sufferings of this present time worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us? Rom. 8:18. 

Note. — In a scriptural sense persecution was the active and malignant opposition which the Christians of all ages have met with from the enemies of Christ. The Scriptures class the tormentors as pagans, so today every one that persecutes the Church of God is classified as a pagan.
