THE CHURCH PERSECUTED
Scripture reading: Acts 9:1-18.
Memory verse: Acts 22:4.
- How did the Apostle Paul regard the Church at one time? Gal. 1:13; Acts. 8:1-3.
- Because of the fact that Paul had persecuted the Church of God, how did he feel about being chosen as an apostle? 1 Cor. 15:9.
- How was it that Paul was chosen as an apostle or even obtained mercy after being a persecutor of the Church? Acts 9:1-17; 1 Tim. 1:13.
- Did Paul suffer persecution after becoming a member of the Church of God? 2 Cor. 11:24-27; Acts 14:19.
- What does Paul say of all who will live godly in Christ Jesus? 2 Tim. 3:12.
- As individual members of the Church of God, from what source may we expect persecution? Matt. 10:34-37.
- As a collective body, from what source may the church expect persecution? Acts 20:28-30; 2 Pet. 2:1-2; Matt. 24:11, 24.
- Should we be surprised or think it strange if we have trials? 1 Peter 4:12.
- In the case of sufferings, trials and persecution, should we recant, or rejoice? Verses 13, 14.
- Will the Church have trials and be persecuted in the future? Rev. 12:17, also chapter 17:12-14.
- What is said about those who are delivered in this time of final persecution? Verse 14 last part.
Note. — Three steps are mentioned herein to qualify us for the “Bride of Christ” — to be called, chosen, and faithful.
- Will those who are faithful in little things also be faithful in the bigger things? Luke 16:10-13.
